| We have a need for several Technical Writers at the Picatinny Arsenal in Morris County, NJ. Positions are to support a multi-year contract with the government and can either be set up as corp-to-corp, independent contractors or direct hire employees with health and medical benefits, vacation and sick pay and a 401K plan.\\r\\n\\r\\n \\r\\n\\r\\nWriters will be developing and creating system and user manuals for training purposes.\\r\\n\\r\\nResponsibilities:\\r\\nØ Processing engineering information to produce technical operator and maintenance manuals.\\r\\nØ Assist in the preparation and editing of technical publications using established procedures and guidelines.\\r\\nØ Assist with concept and presentation of written material and illustrations for the publication.\\r\\nØ Conduct validation and verification of manuals in shop or field environments.\\r\\n\\r\\nRequirements:\\r\\nØ Comprehensive knowledge of grammar, writing, editing, and publishing processes to include electronic publishing concepts, practices, standards, and technologies.\\r\\nØ Knowledge of SGML or Comprehensive knowledge of the Extensible Markup Language (XML) in the context of creating printed and electronic documents and/or manuals.\\r\\nØ Able to read, modify, and develop XML Document Type Definitions (DTD) and Schemas.\\r\\nØ Working knowledge of XML editing tools such as EPIC and xMetal. \\r\\nØ Able to read, modify, and develop style languages such as Extensible Stylesheet Language (XSL) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).\\r\\nØ Past experience with military publication development and/or IETM development is desirable.\\r\\nØ Experience with electronic publishing tools such as FrameMaker, Interleaf, PageMaker is highly desirable. |
